Hello everyone.
Unfortunately today, I have to bring you some disappointing news. At a recent meeting of the Old City Arts Hub Board, the following motion was passed:
To suspend discussions with representatives of St. Andrew’s United and withdraw OCAH’s efforts to develop an “Arts Hub” in alliance with the Church due to their inability to establish clear and beneficial terms for the relationship.
We realize this will be upsetting news for the many people and organizations who have been behind this initiative and we wanted to reach out with this information to keep you informed. The OCAH Board has worked very hard to avoid this; however, over the past year, it has become increasingly clear that no movement is being made. After many discussions with representatives of STAUC requesting essential information on which to base specific Terms of Operations for a formal OCAH -STAUC partnership to move forward, our board reluctantly decided to suspend our negotiations with St Andrews United Church. Progress has ground to a halt, and with that comes the realization that a different direction must be pursued.
We are not giving up!
The determination to find a way to bring OCAH to fruition is as strong as ever. The OCAH board is not quitting. It is merely pivoting and re-directing. Other options are being explored and the Board is committed to continuing its work to realize the vision of the Old City Arts Hub. An incredible amount of work has already been done. We can’t give up now!
